Suffolk Coastal District Council has announced that they have revised the LDF and will be conducting another round of public consultation – you may have seen this in the latest Coastline magazine which they published recently. The consultation dates have now been published and it will run for eight weeks from 29 November to 23 January 2011
We think that allowing only 8 weeks for this exercise is wholly inappropriate especially when it includes the seasonal holiday period. The Council seems to be pressing ahead with undue haste, perhaps mindful that there is a full council election next May, and that the coalition Government will soon be publishing details of its Localism Bill which promises more community involvement in development decisions affecting their area.
The Council has said that they have revised some aspects of the local plan, including reducing the number of houses proposed for the District as a whole by about 960 over the 15 years plan. We have no more details yet.
Nearly 4000 people have signed the NANT petition and it’s important we continue to make our views known at this critical stage. The outcome of the LDF will have a major impact on whether the BT plans go ahead or not.
Please respond to the consultation giving your views and watch this website for more news.
