Suffolk Coastal District Council Planning Application C/10/0941
Change of use of agricultural land for storage of up to 200 caravans, Foxburrow Farm, Waldringfield Road, Brightwell, Suffolk
I am writing on behalf of the No Adastral New Town group (NANT) which was formed to resist overdevelopment on a site owned by British Telecom which is located in close proximity and almost adjacent to Foxburrow Farm. NANT is the principal local amenity group.
We object to the application for change of use of the land to caravan storage and we are objectors in the appeal process.
The site lies within open countryside and is adjacent to the Special Landscape Area and is very close to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Newbourne Springs SSSI.
The proposed storage of up to 200 caravans would have a significant, adverse visual impact directly upon the character and landscape quality of the countryside in which the appeal site is located.
The proposed development would have a significant, adverse visual impact upon the Special Landscape Area and on the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
In NANT’s submission, the application of the national designation AONB is regarded throughout Suffolk and beyond as of particular importance in an area of internationally recognised, dwindling heathland and endangered wetland habitats. The appeal site is located in an environment of high landscape quality and scenic value.
We ask that the appeal be dismissed. We wish to register our intention to attend and to make our representations at the Public Enquiry.
